Ethiopian traditional medicine employs medicinal plants such as Vernonia amygdalina, Aloe vera, Allium cepa, and Eucalyptus globulus, which are widely used by mothers as primary caregivers. This study presents a qualitative synthesis of published literature on the phytochemical profiles of these plants, complemented by computationally simulated gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) data generated using Python‑based modeling. No original laboratory experiments or ethnographic fieldwork were conducted. The simulations, based on retention times and relative signal intensities reported in peer‑reviewed studies produced illustrative chromatograms that suggest the presence of compounds such as vernodalin, vernomygdin, luteolin, stigmasterol, and linolenic acid. Vernodalin consistently appeared as a major simulated peak, which may indicate its potential bioactivity as previously described in the literature. Luteolin and linolenic acid have been associated with antioxidant and anti‑inflammatory properties, while eucalyptus components (e.g., 1, 8‑cineole) support respiratory benefits reported in earlier pharmacological studies. These simulated findings are consistent with traditional uses but do not constitute experimental validation. The clear separation of peaks in the simulated chromatograms facilitates qualitative illustration, underscoring the need for future in vitro and in vivo studies to quantify compounds such as vernodalin and vernomygdin and to explore extraction methods. In conclusion, the simulated phytochemical profiles align with literature‑reported compositions, supporting the medicinal potential of these plants only in the context of previous experimental evidence. Integrating traditional knowledge with computational and analytical techniques may guide future pharmaceutical research, provided that simulated data are clearly distinguished from experimental results.
