Archiving Policy

The Brazilian Journal of Science (BJS) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and integrity of all published scholarly content.

The journal is published using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) and employs internationally recognized digital archiving and preservation services to safeguard the scholarly record.

All published articles are assigned persistent Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) through Crossref, ensuring permanent identification and reliable citation.

To ensure continuous access and long-term preservation, the journal participates in the following preservation systems:

  • PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN);
  • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe);
  • CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS).

These services preserve journal content in geographically distributed archives, ensuring permanent accessibility even in the event of technical failures, data loss, or journal discontinuation.

In addition, the Editorial Office performs regular backups of the journal database, website, and published files to further protect the integrity and availability of all published content.
