Brazilian Journal of Science Announces AI-Generated Graphical Abstracts with Mandatory AI Watermark

2026-07-06

Starting with Volume 5, Issue 11, the Brazilian Journal of Science (BJS) will publish Graphical Abstracts created with the assistance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. In accordance with the journal's editorial policy on transparency and the responsible use of AI, all AI-generated Graphical Abstracts must include a discreet watermark in the lower-right corner identifying the AI tool used (e.g., ChatGPT, DALL·E, Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Gemini, etc.). This requirement aims to ensure transparency, traceability, and compliance with the journal's editorial standards while preserving the integrity of scientific communication.
