The Verdinho River Basin, located in Rio Verde and Santo Antônio da Barra, Goiás, Brazil, presents morphometric and hydrological characteristics that constitute necessary elements for the analysis of its performance and facilitates solutions regarding the conservation, use and silting of the soil. In this way, this hydrographic basin is of considerable importance both for Rio Verde and Santo Antônio da Barra, and for Southwest Goiás, with an important source of water for the economic and social growth of the Region. The objective was to carry out a morphometric analysis of the Verdinho River watershed. For this purpose, charts corresponding to the basin under study of the Topodata project, which used improved and corrected data from the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM), were used. The charts were processed in the QGIS program using the r. watershed tool native to GRASS. Thus, the basin was not very prone to the occurrence of large floods and, together with the index analysis, was classified as 4th order, with a low drainage density of 0.16 km/km², with a total area of 1633.14 km², total perimeter of 460.26 km2 and with a parallel drainage pattern, where the water courses flow parallel to each other, related to areas with high slope. The morphometric study assigned parameters related to geometry, such as: capacity coefficient, circularity index, shape factor, drainage pattern, hydrographic density, drainage density, sinuosity index, average altitude of the basin, average slope of the basin, orientation slopes, total length of watercourses, length of main watercourse. Therefore, morphometric analyzes make it possible to understand the hydrological processes, contributing to the rational management of soil and water use in the watershed.
